Record 31,814 new coronavirus cases registered on Tuesday

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam again registered a record number of daily COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, with 31,814 new patients, taking the country’s tally to 2,572,087 infections.

The city of Hà Nội also had a record number of new COVID-19 transmissions, with 3,972 infections. It was again the locality with the highest number of new COVID-19 cases in the country.

Twenty-seven of the new patients nationwide were imported cases and the remaining domestic. The new transmissions were reported in 62 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country.

A total of 22,870 infections were detected in the community.

Other localities that reported new transmissions were Hải Dương (1,807), Hải Phòng (1,417), Nam Định (1,354), Thái Nguyên (1,294), Quảng Ninh (1,246), Ninh Bình (1,136), Vĩnh Phúc (1,135), Nghệ An (1,113), Phú Thọ (1,080), Bắc Ninh (1,041), Hòa Bình (898), Bắc Giang (855), Thanh Hóa (796), Lạng Sơn (784), Đà Nẵng (732), Bình Định (710), Lào Cai (661), Sơn La (599), Hưng Yên (596), Thái Bình (596), Quảng Nam (571), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (494), Yên Bái (453), Gia Lai (437), Quảng Bình (435), Hà Tĩnh (426), Khánh Hòa (395), Tuyên Quang (373), Đắk Lắk (372), Lâm Đồng (362), Quảng Trị (349), TP. Việt Nam has seen 198 cases of the Omicron variant so far, in HCM City (97), Quảng Nam (27), Quảng Ninh (20), Hà Nội (14), Khánh Hòa (11), Đà Nẵng (8 ), Hưng Yên (6), Kiên Giang (4), Thanh Hóa (2), Hải Dương (2), Hải Phòng (1), Long An (1), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (1), Bình Dương (2), Lâm Đồng (1) and Ninh Bình (1).

A total of 9,326 patients were declared recovered from the disease, with a total of 2,242,273 given the all-clear so far.

Eighty-five fatalities related to COVID-19 were reported, in HCM City (4), Hà Nội (11), Khánh Hòa (9 in two days), Quảng Ngãi (6 in two days ), Bình Định (5), Đà Nẵng (5), Kiên Giang (5), Quảng Nam (4), Bắc Ninh (3), Nam Định (3), Nghệ An (3), Tây Ninh (3), Vĩnh Long (3), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (2), Bình Thuận (2), Đồng Tháp (2), Hà Nam (2), Lạng Sơn (2), Bạc Liêu (1), Cần Thơ (1), Cao Bằng (1), Đắk Nông (1), Hải Phòng (1), Long An (1), Ninh Bình (1), Phú Yên (1), Quảng Ninh (1), Thái Bình (1) and Thái Nguyên (1).
