QUẢNG NINH — Vĩnh Hồng is an ancient pottery village in Đông Triều Town, Quảng Ninh Province. Pottery has brought locals a stable income, improving the living standards of the people here.
Vĩnh Hồng ceramic products are unique in their beautiful designs, high durability, good impact resistance and enamel durability. In particular, this traditional pottery village still retains the method of burning pottery with wood.
Elders in the village said that pottery in Vĩnh Hồng Village dates back to the 18th century because craftsmen from Gia Lâm, Hà Nội immigrated here. Due to its good location close to the main road, Vĩnh Hồng pottery has been spread in provinces such as Hải Phòng, Lạng Sơn and Thái Nguyên. In the last century, people in the village still worked on a small scale. However, in 1957, craftsman Hoàng Bá Huy developed the pottery profession here, making it the main profession of the village. Since then, many households in the village have developed a good trade.
With the development of Vĩnh Hồng pottery, the Vĩnh Hồng Pottery Co-operative was established to introduce Vĩnh Hồng ceramic products all over the country and export them to other countries.
Vĩnh Hồng ceramic products are diverse such as pedestals, bowls, plates, big jars and big flowerpots.
With a long history, today, Vĩnh Hồng is not only a place providing ceramic products and creating jobs for many workers, but it is also an attractive tourist destination for people visiting the province. VNS
