Public buses are now allowed to pick up and drop off passengers at the domestic terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City to provide convenience for travelers.
Buses of routes No.152 and No.72-1 have been connected to the domestic terminal of Tan Son Nhat Airport from Monday, according to the city’s public transport management center.
These buses only reached the international terminal of the airdrome in the past.
At the domestic terminal, the buses are arranged to pick up and drop off passengers on lane B.
Bus route No.152 connects Tan Son Nhat Airport with Trung Son residential area in Binh Chanh District.
The route is operated from 5:30 am to 7:00 pm daily, with tickets costing VND5,000 (US$0.2) per passenger.
Route No.72-1 links the airdrome with the Vung Tau Bus Station in Vung Tau City, located in the southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
The fare for this bus route is VND160,000 ($7) per passenger.
The bus services are expected to provide convenience for travelers and meet increasing travel demand from and to the domestic terminal of Tan Son Nhat Airport.
In early March, the municipal Department of Transport confirmed that the large number of air passengers and the shortage of taxicabs had made it difficult for people to access transportation services at the terminal.
Many travelers also reported being overcharged.
During the upcoming holiday marking the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), Tan Son Nhat Airport is expected to serve about 42,000 travelers, according to VnExpress newspaper.
