The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport will ban all vehicles from entering multiple streets in downtown areas this weekend for the organization of the 2022 National Olympic Run Day for Public Health.
The traffic ban will come into effect on the section of Le Duan Street bounded by Pham Ngoc Thach and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Streets from 6:00 am to 9:00 am on Saturday and from 4:00 am to 10:30 pm on Sunday.
Vehicles will also be limited on the remaining section of Le Duan Street, Cong Xa Paris Street, Dong Khoi Street, Ton Duc Thang Street, Nguyen Hue Street, Ham Nghi Street, Quach Thi Trang Roundabout, Le Loi Street, and Pasteur Street.
People can take the following alternative routes:
Route 1: Nguyen Binh Khiem Street → Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street → Phung Khac Khoan Street → Tran Cao Van Street → Cong Truong Quoc Te Roundabout → Vo Van Tan Street → Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street.
Route 2: Le Duan Street → Hai Ba Trung Street → Nguyen Du Street → Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street.
Route 3: Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street → Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street → Dinh Tien Hoang Street → Le Duan Street.
Drivers are advised to slow down and obey the instructions of traffic control forces, traffic police officers or traffic signal systems on the aforementioned streets.
Individuals and organizations that need to travel to and from the affected areas during the above limited time frames are recommended to contact the municipal Department of Culture and Sports for support.
The 2022 National Olympic Run Day for Public Health, organized by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, is expected to attract 5,000 participants. They will run on a one-kilometer route on the arranged streets.
