HÀ NỘI — Australia delivered a further 1.14 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Hà Nội this week, bringing the donation from the country to Việt Nam to 3.6 million doses, Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne said on Wednesday.
“Australia’s vaccine deliveries to neighbours across our Indo-Pacific region are complemented by additional support to ensure safe and effective vaccine rollouts. In Việt Nam, Australia’s AUD$60 million COVID-19 package is helping to train healthcare workers, provide fridges to maintain cold chain storage and support the vaccine rollout in remote provinces,” she said.
“Timely and equitable COVID-19 vaccine access is a priority for our region, and it is important for our shared health security and economic recovery.”
Australia has shared over 12 million vaccines as part of a commitment of 60 million doses for the Indo-Pacific region by the end of 2022.
Việt Nam has administered 140.44 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with 76.11 million first doses, 62.96 million second doses, and 1.36 million third doses. — VNS
