8,004 new COVID-19 cases, five deaths registered in Việt Nam on Wednesday

HÀ NỘI — A total of 8,004 new COVID cases were reported in Việt Nam on Wednesday, a reduction of 427 new infections compared to the previous day.

The new transmissions bring the total caseload in Việt Nam to 10,631,516 since the start of the pandemic

Hà Nội still had the highest number of infections, with 921, followed by Phú Thọ (544).

The other areas recording new transmissions were Nghệ An (351), Yên Bái (350), Đắk Lắk (327), Quảng Ninh (304), Vĩnh Phúc (299), Lào Cai (297), Hải Dương (292), Tuyên Quang (250), Gia Lai (245), Quảng Bình (230), Thái Nguyên (227), Bắc Kạn (213), Thái Bình (202), Nam Định (179), Bắc Giang (177), Hưng Yên (174), Lâm Đồng (169), Bến Tre (161), Bắc Ninh (148), Lạng Sơn (139), Cao Bằng (125), Ninh Bình (121), Hà Giang (116), Đà Nẵng (110), Sơn La (105), Hà Nam (96), Hải Phòng (90), Vĩnh Long (86), Quảng Trị (84), Hòa Bình (83), Lai Châu (79), Điện Biên (75), Bình Phước (61), Tây Ninh (58), Quảng Ngãi (49), Bình Định (48), HCM City (48), Thanh Hóa (47), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (45), Đắk Nông (41), Khánh Hòa (35), Quảng Nam (29), Bình Dương (28), Cà Mau (23), Phú Yên (20), Đồng Tháp (20), Bình Thuận (19), Thừa Thiên Huế (15), Kiên Giang (14), Long An (9), An Giang (9), Trà Vinh (8), Đồng Nai (3), Bạc Liêu (3), Hậu Giang (2) and Cần Thơ (1).

Quảng Ninh Province’s Department of Health on Wednesday added an additional 3,309 cases to the national system.

The country also recorded five more deaths related to COVID-19, meaning the death toll has now reached 43,034, about 0.4 per cent of infections.

There are 624 COVID patients nationwide currently receiving oxygen support, including 52 on invasive ventilation and one on life support.

46,907 patients fully recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 9,163,132 since the pandemic began. — VNS
