16,035 coronavirus infections confirmed on Tuesday, Hà Nội reports record high 2,884 cases

HÀ NỘI — The city of Hà Nội continues to be the locality with the most coronavirus cases in the country, registering a record 2,884 new daily COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, as a total of 16,035 transmissions were confirmed nationwide.

It was the third consecutive day the capital had had over 2,800 cases.

Of the daily caseload, 16 were imported, the rest domestic. There were 10,691 community transmissions.

The total number of coronavirus infections in the country since the start of the pandemic now stands at 1,930,428.

Other localities reporting new transmissions were Khánh Hòa (782), Cà Mau (762), Bình Định (671), Bình Phước (667), Hồ Chí Minh (558), Đà Nẵng (543), Hải Phòng (514), Bến Tre (498), Tây Ninh (462), Đắk Lắk (381), Bắc Ninh (380), Vĩnh Long (377), Hưng Yên (347), Trà Vinh (326), Thanh Hóa (319), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (294), Quảng Ninh (240), Lâm Đồng (235), Quảng Ngãi (224), Thừa Thiên Huế (222), Bạc Liêu (193), Hà Giang (186), Nghệ An (185), Thái Nguyên (184), Vĩnh Phúc (177), Hậu Giang (175), Cần Thơ (169), Hải Dương (168), Hòa Bình (161), Bình Thuận (156), Bắc Giang (155), Quảng Nam (154), Nam Định (145), An Giang (117), Đắk Nông (114), Đồng Tháp (109), Phú Thọ (108), Quảng Bình (105), Thái Bình (104), Kiên Giang (103), Ninh Bình (102), Yên Bái (101), Hà Nam (98), Sóc Trăng (92), Lạng Sơn (87), Lào Cai (81), Đồng Nai (81), Sơn La (79), Phú Yên (77), Hà Tĩnh (66), Quảng Trị (66), Tiền Giang (65), Tuyên Quang (59), Ninh Thuận (50), Điện Biên (49), Long An (44), Lai Châu (39), Kon Tum (38), Cao Bằng (37), Bắc Kạn (26), Bình Dương (25) and Gia Lai (3).

Việt Nam reported an additional 256 COVID-related deaths on Tuesday, bringing the death toll from the virus to 34,787.

A total of 6,866 patients were declared fully recovered from COVID-19, with the total number given the all-clear increasing to 1,596,960 since the start of the pandemic.

31 Omicron infections have been discovered so far, all imported cases quarantined upon arrival.

Việt Nam has administered over 162.3 million doses of vaccine, including more than 71.3 million people receiving two full jabs, and over 12.5 million inoculated with a booster shot. — VNS
