The New Zealand Embassy in Vietnam on Thursday launched a competition for creative logo designs that capture the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries in honor of the upcoming 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2020.

The winning logo will feature innovative and modern design styles with clear shapes and colors, the embassy said at a ceremony held to launch the competition at the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts.

Speaking at the event, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Wendy Matthews declared 2020 as a milestone year for the bilateral relationship between the two countries as they celebrate 45 years of diplomatic ties.

“The New Zealand-Viet Nam partnership is going from strength to strength,” Ambassador Matthews said.

“I am pleased to have the opportunity to commemorate the thriving linkages between our two countries through activities such as this exciting logo competition.”

According to the organizer, Vietnamese citizens of all ages are welcome to participate in the competition.

The winner will receive the grand prize of VND8 million (US$345) while a voucher to buy an Amazon Kindle e-reader will be awarded to the entry that receives the most “likes” on social media.

Each participant can submit up to five logos by emailing 3MB to 5MB jpeg files of their entries to nzvn45@gmail.com by 12:00 am on January 6, 2020.

The winner will be announced on February 6, New Zealand’s national day.

“The winning logo from this competition will be an important expression of the friendly and dynamic relationship between New Zealand and Vietnam,” Ambassador Matthews said.

“The winning logo will be a core part of the branding for the events and activities we will undertake in 2020 to mark this important milestone.

“I am looking forward to celebrating this anniversary year, and I can’t wait to see all of the fabulous logos from some of Vietnam’s most creative minds.”

The competition is being run through the New Zealand Embassy’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/nzembassyvietnam, where further information on how to participate in the competition is also available.
